Our Responsibility

We guarantee to provide a fully insured, perfectly maintained car for you on the day of your Driving Test. (We can’t specify the make and model until the day of the test)

Our instructor must satisfy him/herself that your driving is of a safe standard. In the unlikely event that your driving is not at a reasonable standard we reserve the right to withdraw the use of the car for your driving test. If we feel that you are not safe the tester will feel the same way and it is neither safe nor wise to continue with your test. In this event you will be liable for the cost of the driving instructor’s time (i.e. the number of hours of pretests plus one hour for the carhire itself) but not the cost of Car Hire for the test. Remember this will also inconvenience us greatly but safety must come first.

If for any reason the vehicle is refused by the tester on the day of your test (this has never happened with Driving Test Car Hire) you will receive a full refund of monies paid for the car hire for test.

We offer a free drop off service to anywhere within 3km of the test centre.

Your Responsibility

It is your responsibility to possess a valid Learner Permit and have furnished us with the correct time, date and location of your driving test.

We cannot refund any payments as a result of your error. Your test fee will also be forfeit. Balance of Payment for car hire is to be paid on the day at the beginning of the lesson/car hire.

Our Terms and Conditions

If the RSA postpone your test in the day(s) before your test (this occasionally happens) you must immediately notify us. We will of course re-arrange your Car Hire for the new time of your driving test.

If after you have started your Lesson/Car hire you decide for any reason not to proceed no refunds will be applicable.

This includes the deposit or any payment made or owed as part of the car hire.

If the RSA cancel your test on the day of the test (usually but not exclusively due to inclement weather conditions, especially ice/snow or fog) we will refund the carhire portion of the fee. You will remain liable for the pretest and also for the time duration of the Driving Test itself.

Driving Test Car Hire will not be liable for the cost of a RSA retest under any circumstances.

No deposit will be returned under any circumstances within 5 working days of your driving test. If you decide to cancel within 10 working days we will refund 50% of the deposit paid

All deposits paid within 72 hours of the car hire are final and will under no circumstances be refunded. (You must check availability with us before paying a deposit if your test is within the next 72 hrs).
